Martin Gershlowitz has years of experience dealing with autism. He is a guest speaker at autism conferences and has helped to establish and run The Star Academy which provides ABA programs internationally.
Martin Gerschlowitz lives in Johannesburg, South Africa. His impact and contribution to autism in South Africa and internationally has been life changing not only for his own family but also for other families around the world. Over the last two decades, he has helped to establish and manage The Star Academy which provides education programs to children with autism.
As a little boy he grew up on the friendly streets of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. He completed High School in 1990 and enrolled at The University of the Witwatersrand, to become a chartered accountant.
Martin is a successful businessman and his voice and wisdom on autism is weaved throughout the book: Saving My Sons – A Journey With Autism, where he shares an account of his experience having come face to face with autism twice. Martin is the father to three boys. His oldest son David is profoundly autistic.
With 22 years of experience in the autism field, Martin shares his insight, practical tips and advice to parents and professionals at autism conferences. He presented at the Autism: Now What? Conference in London in 2024 and will also present on autism in Cyprus in March 2025.
