Autism is a spectrum diagnosis, meaning that individuals with autism can exhibit a wide range of characteristics, from severe impairments to high-functioning abilities. On one end of the spectrum, children may have difficulty speaking or communicating, while on the other end, they may be able to attend school and participate in mainstream activities, but still face challenges with social skills and learning.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in America, one in thirty-six children receive an autism diagnosis. Similar statistics are reported around the world, indicating a growing need for educators to understand and support students with autism.

Ilana is an international speaker, having presented at conferences around the world and her book, “Saving My Sons – A Journey with Autism” is a guide to parents and professionals working in the field of autism. The presentation is a message of hope and inspiration to parents and professionals raising and teaching children with autism.
An overview of teaching methodologies, developmental curriculum and the latest treatments for autism.
Author of “Saving my Sons: A Journey with Autism” will be discussing her journey as a parent of a child with autism. She will also discuss educational programs for children with autism and applied behavior analysis (ABA), and how to tackle challenging behaviors. As a mother to a profoundly autistic adult she will share much insight on the autism diagnosis and the challenges parents face in raising children with autism.

Martin will be discussing his journey, raising a child on the spectrum from a Dad’s perspective. Martin’s impact and contribution to autism has been life changing for many families, including his own. He has helped to establish and run The Star Academy which provides ABA programs internationally.
