school placement

When considering school readiness and school placement, it is important to examine all aspects, not just academic skills. Many areas within a school environment can affect a child’s success. If a child is unable to understand or respond to basic social cues, this can impact their ability to make friends, follow classroom rules, and significantly diminish their confidence.

Executive functioning skills, such as memory, sustained attention, and general organization, are also crucial. Without these skills in place, children may face challenges that set them up for failure in a classroom setting. By incorporating ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) into academic work, a child can be taught not only how to manage and function but also how to thrive in a school environment and fully benefit from the experience.
